Rybelsus is manufactured by Novo Nordisk, a global pharmaceutical firm renowned for its innovative healthcare solutions.

Rybelsus is a tablet that is taken daily. The specific dosage and schedule will be determined based on individual needs and medical history. However, assuming no (or mild) side effects a fairly typical treatment plan could start as follows:

Days 1 – 30: 3mg (once a day)

Days 31 – 60: 7mg (once a day)

Weeks 61 onwards: 14mg (once a day)

Please note that progression to stronger doses will be assessed individually and your clinician may increase your dose more slowly based on how well your body tolerates the medication.

In the UK Rybelsus is licensed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, but is not currently licensed for weight loss and weight management. However it may be prescribed off-label for patients over 18 suffering from obesity (defined as having a BMI higher than 30) and also for those who are overweight (defined as having a BMI of 27 – 30) who also have other weight-related health problems.
